Happy Birthday Logan

Happy Birthday to my Logan! I love you with all my heart. You are full of life and spirit. I love your laugh, its so contagious. I love your hugs and kisses, I love my big helper! You love helping me in the kitchen and can crack and egg no problem, no shell or anything.  This year you have grown so much, going to preschool, you have a big vocabulary and can tell me everything your feeling. You are still very stubborn and skeptical but you come around when your ready. You love superheros! Only want to wear a shirt that has a superhero on it.  Its been a wonderful year, I'm so proud your my son and I feel like the luckiest person to be your mom!

7 Year Wedding Anniversary

Shawn and I celebrated 7 years of marriage. Its hard to remember all the moments but we have had a lot of amazing moments and some difficult times but I can say that I don't think I have ever been this happy that I am right now. I maybe don't have a house but my life is such a beautiful gift. I'm so grateful I married someone who sees the things in life that are really important and that's Love and not stuff. There is a song on the radio and I love this one part of the song that says "Love is the prize". I am so lucky I have so much love in my life. When I married Shawn one of the reasons I wanted to marry him was I knew he was a great person and he had a beautiful heart. He is the most amazing man, I like to tell him sometimes that he's a real man. I love him so much and I am amazed at the person he is, he makes my life so so wonderful. He has given me the two most amazing children that are the prize of my life.

For are anniversary we left the kids with Shawn's family and we spent the weekend just the two of us just hanging out. It was so much fun just getting some time to focus on us. Shawn is my most favourite person, he is my very best friend and I love spending time with him. I wish everyone could know love like I do, it makes life so beautiful.

Moving!!

I really never thought I would move out of Bridgland Place but we are leaving! I wish I could say were moving into a house but we are moving back into 917 in a two bedroom apartment. Very soon this place will only be a memory. All the drama of working for Calgary housing will be forgotten, we first started six years and Shawn would work once a week with one of the shifts being a weekend shift until 3am, we then went to two people on a shift and 2 shifts sometimes two a week. Then we went to three sometimes four shifts a week, that's when we decided we needed to go.

I never thought I would feel sad to leave this place but its hard for me to let this place go and all the good memories I have made here. The people in this building can be a little crazy and some interesting things happen but I have become a different person while we have lived here. I have become a mom to two amazing beautiful children. I have grown emotional and matured into a women. We have live here for six years and I feel like a different person then I was six years ago, I am happy with the person I am becoming, I love being a wife and a mom!  I will always remember bringing Logan home from the hospital that first night and having are bedroom all set up for him to sleep in are room. Logan was really congested and I was so scared he would stop breathing and to me a very new mom I thought he did stop breathing a few times. We called 911 and in are little bedroom we had four firefighters and then EMS came and took Logan to the hospital. In this building we live so close to the zoo and science centre we can walk (I'm going to miss that).  We have had are kids first everything in this apartment, first steeps, Christmas, words, first foods, excreta. I'm looking forward to making new memories in where ever we live but its hard to realize how fast time really goes and its so important to enjoy every moment.

Just love this time right now with Logan and Aubrey! They are so fun and and funny. They make life so wonderful, cant believe how fast they are growing but I just want to enjoy every moment of their cuteness and love.

Aubrey has the most vibriant personality, she just knows how to melt your heart and be so funny at the same time. I wanted to write down some of the things she does so I can remember:

- If you ask her to smile she will give you the goofiest smile. Scrunched up noise and all teeth showing.
- When a child (Logan mostly) is sad she will go up to them and hit them, not sure why just maybe doesn't like it when they cry and whine.
- she loves to put water in her mouth and spit it out, she will take a drink and swallow and when shes done she keeps drinking but will just start spiting all the water out.
- she has now started to give really cute kisses where she will put her lips together and start making a kissing noise.
- loves to find boxes and just take everything out of them
- says thank you at the right time all the time and its so cute
- sometimes when you say I love you Aubrey she will blow you a kiss.
- gives the best 10 second hugs
- has the cutest craziest, curliest hair
- loves to eat and run, take a bite and run away then when shes done will come back and get more
- she loves dancing and will dance to even church hymns
- she loves playing in dirt, the dirtier she gets the happier she is (until I have to scrub her body clean).

Logan is so adorable, he still has the best laugh and kind nature. I also wanted to write a few things I want to remember about Logan and some of the funny things he says:

- Logan said to me the other day: When Aubrey gets older she will get a penis like me
- He calls McDonalds Old McDonalds
- He calls Oatmeal Email
- Logan loves to hold the elevator and door open for me and Aubrey and other strangers (such a gentlemen already)
- When ever Aubrey cries he will go and find her a toy to play with
- One of Logans favourite things to do is to go behind Aubrey and poke and bug her.
- Logan loves puzzles and he is really good at them. He can spend an hour or more doing puzzles. His favourite are lighting McQueen.

So many other things that make my beautiful babies so special to me but they are truly the most beautiful spirits and they are the greatest gift to me!

Canada Day Fun

Best Canada Day Ever!

At Fort Calgary to celebrate Canada Day they had bouncy houses, pony rides and a petting zoo.  I was so proud of Logan because we went on the pony no problem.  Logan is usually scared of all animals so for him to get on a horse no problem was exciting.  Aubrey got to go on the pony also which made her really excited. It was surprising that it wasn't that busy, I think it was because of the flood that happened the week before.

After we hung out at Fort Calgary for a while we went to Grandma and Papas house to play on the boat. Amber and her family came also and Logan did another first of going on the tube, he LOVED it! It was so much fun watching Logan enjoy having so much fun with out any fear. Logan s usually very cautious so its nice that he can still be cautions but get to enjoy things and not let himself worry to much. At night the town of Chestermere set fireworks off on the water so we drove Papas boat and watched the fireworks.  The whole day was so much fun!

Calaway

This is the first year we have purchased Calaway park passes.  Brings back lots of fun memories going to Calaway with my friends growing up. I can remember one time going with my best friend Laura and we had the roller-coaster all to our selves, we went 8 times around and we were the only two on the ride.

The park has been open for three weekends and we have been twice already.  Its a really fun way to spend our Saturday, there are surprisingly a lot of rides Logan can go on and a few Aubrey also can go on. I have been really surprised by how much Logan likes some of the faster bigger rides, he loves going on them with his Dad most of all. I LOVE that we do lots of fun things as a family. We now have zoo passes, science centre pass and now Calaway park passes. Its worth every penny because we use all of them regularly.

My thoughts

I'm a very forgetful person. I find there are moments I want to remember so bad but time passes and I forget. I wish I could go back and remember Logan being a little baby, I can remember some things but most of it is a blur. He was such a happy baby, had the best laugh. I can remember the first night I spent with him in the hospital and I knew he had the sweetest spirit. That moment in the hospital when I was so scared and unsure of what to do with this little baby, Logan looked up at me as if to tell me that it would be okay, that was the moment I fell in love with my little boy.

Aubrey will be 18 months in a few weeks and I still nurse her, she still wakes up once at night and I like it because I'm holding on to her being little. It makes me sad that I cant hold on to every memory, every moment. It has all been so wonderful. Sometimes I want to put a blanket on the floor of there room just so I can sleep with there peaceful spirits. To me there is nothing more beautiful then them. I love them so much it hurts.

I love the stage Logan and Aubrey are at right now, Logan is talking a lot and more interested in learning and Aubrey is starting to talk and understand me. Its fun to watch them interact together, One of Logan s favourite things to do it walk around and find a way to make Aubrey scream, sit on her, take a toy away, poke her. But then he can be the sweetest big brother, they share a room and if they wake up and I'm sleeping Logan will give her toys and sometimes food in her crib to make her happy. He tells me all the time how much he loves her, they love to give each-other hugs and kisses. Aubrey has started to hit and loves to go over to Logan (especially if he's sitting on my lap) and hit him. She always finds the time when he's upset or wants to be left alone, they already know how to get on each-others nerves. Aubrey likes Logan being around but really does not want me to spend any time hugging or holding him unless she is right on top of me.

We have now lived at Bridgeland place for almost 6 years, its hard to believe that much time has passed by! I feel like a different person, I used to feel like I knew who I was and now  I have lost my identity a little. I love being a mom and wife but its also really hard to say that's all I do, I wish I could find a way to impact other people make a different outside my home.

Saturday Fun

Today was a great day! I think Saturday is my favourite day of the week. The kids and I always do fun activities during the week but Saturday is extra fun because Shawn is home and he can help me with the kids. We always start Saturdays with waffles its become a tradition we love. Today we went on a walk/run to honour those injured or killed in the Boson marathon bomb. It was really cold so we didn't last long but we were glad we went out. After we went to the Fish hatchery, we went on a tour and learned all about what they do and looked around. The kids got to feed the fish so they had a lot of fun. It was an interesting place but its more a one in every 15 years kind of thing. After we did some shopping then went out for dinner at Smugglers, lately on Saturdays we have been going out to eat on Saturdays which is a really nice break for me. Most Saturdays if Shawn's not working in the building we go swimming.

Easter Fun

Easter Saturday March 30 and Sunday March 31, 2013

On Saturday we spent the day with the Rasmussen's, it was Grandpa's birthday so we went for dinner then we had birthday cake and a Easter egg hunt in the back yard. Logan, Aubrey and Payton had a lot of fun looking for eggs.  The Rasmussen's have a tradition where they take a paper bag and fill it with Easter candy then someone will hide your bag outside on the property and its your job to find it. Its fun but the hiding places can get a little crazy, I think most the fun is hiding someone else's bag.

On Sunday we went to church then went over to the Voroney house. Grandma and Papa were still in Phoenix but we had a pot-luck with Amber and Amanda's family.  After dinner we had a Easter egg hunt upstairs for the kids. Everyone had lots of fun looking for eggs.  Logan and Aubrey love spending time with their cousins so it was a really fun weekend. (Ashley went to Montana with her family so they didn't come.)
