Week of July 23

I reconnected with my old friend Niki this week, we haven't talked or seen each other in probably seven years.
Niki has a little boy named Lukas who is a year older then Logan so they had a lot of fun together. On Monday we went to the zoo with them then saw them again on Friday when we went to Riley Park. Logan has a hard time sharing but is getting a lot better because now Aubrey wants to play with his toys so he gets to work on sharing everyday. On Wednesday we went to Chuky E Cheese with Amber and her kids which was a new experience and a lot of fun. Logan is really scared of mascots so going I knew there was a chance we might see one and sure enough a very large mouse came out and Logan was hysterical; shaking and crying. It's bad because I can't help but laugh but it is a little scary when you think about it from a child's perspective.

I love the summer but it makes Logan not want to sleep and a little moody. I never really know what mood Logan will be in and what will set him off.

Aubrey is doing really well but now she is starting to play strange with people other than mom and dad so that's a little sad but she is the sweetest thing and I just can't get enough of her. She took a few steps (if you can call it that) of real crawling and then she went back to regular army crawl that she's been doing for the past while.

Shawn and I are also doing really well, are relationship is very strong and I am so so grateful to have such an amazing relationship. I occasionally feel sorry for myself because I look around me and it seams like everyone has a house while we live in a two bedroom but I have way more than most people.

Week of July 16

This week has been a great week. Monday we went shopping, Logan's favorite store is Costco (Mommy's too). He loves getting a book and eating the samples. Tuesday we went to the Science Centre with Amanda. Logan loves spending time with Elly even though most the time they are fighting. On Wednesday and Thursday we went to the beach. Wednesday night we went on a walk and Logan and Daddy saw a beaver swimming in the water. Thursday night we got to go to Shawn's hockey game. Most of his games are late so we can never go so it was a nice to get to see him play and Logan loves it too. On Friday we just took it easy for the day and when Shawn got home we went for a picnic at the park. Looking forward to the weekend.

I love the weekends!

With Shawn working full time during the day then also working two-three nights a week at the building and having hockey we don't get to spend a lot of time with Shawn so we love the weekend so we can spend all Saturday and Sunday with him. It's Stampede so on Saturday we went to a pancake breakfast then we went for a walk. It doesn't matter what were doing we always have so much fun together. On Sunday we went to church then went to Grandma and Grandpa Rasmussen.

Logan does crazy things, this weekend he stuck macaroni up his nose, flipped off this chair and painted his face with his yogurt. Just normal two year old behavior. It's nice that we need to keep Logan so busy because it also keeps Aubrey entertained. Aubrey is getting around, she army crawls everywhere but now when she's on the floor she will sit on her bum to play with a toy.

I feel so lucky, I have so much love in my life. When I had Logan I couldn't believe my capacity to love and then I had Aubrey and my capacity grew even more. I love them so so much I love being at home so I can experience every moment with them, when Logan was at daycare I just feel like I missed so much. Sometimes I forget how very lucky I am.

Stampede 2012

This year Shawn took the day off work to go to the Stampede. We got in for free because we went on kids day. It was really fun. We went to Super dogs first, then went and looked at the army equipment, went and saw all the farm animals. Logan loves talking about animals but when it comes time to see them he gets a little freaked out. The kids did amazing we were there for seven hours and Logan didn't complain once.

Hot Summer Day = fun in the water

Today Ashley invited us to come over to the Mahogany beach and play for the morning. Logan had so much fun with his cousins playing in the water and in the sand. We have had a hard time with Logan and Elly fighting all the time but today the played so nice.

When Shawn came home from work it was so beautiful outside (still +30) and he had to work at the building at 7:00pm so I took our dinner (Lettus wraps) and we went to the splash park.

The day was really fun but now Aubrey is a little sick so I'm worried it was too much for her. We will have a relaxing day tomorrow, park or library day.

We had a fun day, first we had the ward BBQ (I forgot to take photos). Logan ran around playing with the other kids and Aubrey had a nap on the grass in the shade.

In the afternoon we also took family photos. It's always an experience to get all the kids to take photos, there are seven kids under the age of five so it's a little stressful. I think they turned out well from the few photos I saw. I'm glad they are over with, I think it was a good idea to have it now when it was so nice outside, we usually get the photos done in October or later.

July 5, 2012

We are having family photos on Saturday so I took Logan and Aubrey to the mall to find some clothes. It's always a frustrating experience taking Logan to the mall I have found I can go into two stores and then he's done, today he wouldn't let me go to one before he stared complaining. I can't really blame him, I can still remember hating going shopping when I was little..

After Logan's three hour nap we went to the science centre (Daddy too). For Christmas Moana gave us passes, in the winter we went once a week.

My little Aubrey

Aubrey will be 7 months next week, she is the most amazing baby. Always happy! She's always babbling and she is starting to crawl. Logan loves having a little sister but is having a hard time sharing his toys. Its fun watching them interact. We love her so so much!

I love days like this! It's beautiful outside so I just took Logan and Aubrey to the park. Logan loves the swing and the slide, he used to refuse to go down the slide but now most the time has no problem. After we were done playing at the park Logan found different objects to put in his bucket (pine cones, rocks...). Aubrey loved being outside watching her brother.
